Official Rules for t1d pumpkins of gratitude

How to enter:

1. Purchase Your Ornament: To participate, each entry requires the purchase of a $5 wooden pumpkin ornament donation at the front desk or online. All proceeds go directly to support Type 1 Diabetes programs and research.
OR "Adopt-a-Pumpkin" Want to help, but don’t want to get stuck with glitter and glue? You can sponsor a pumpkin for another participant. (Sponsored pumpkins are not eligible for prizes). Please see #6 below for full details

*Donation Verification: Account Authenticity Statement: The Venmo and Cash App accounts listed are the official donation links for this fundraiser, managed directly by the event organizer (Shannon McKelvey). Platform naming settings prevent custom name changes, but all payments sent to these verified accounts are legitimate and go toward the intended T1D fundraising effort.

2. Decorate Your Pumpkin: Take your wooden pumpkin home and let your creativity shine! Use paint, markers, stickers, or craft supplies. Please avoid glitter fallout, liquids, or sharp objects for safety.

3. Submit Your Entry: To officially enter, post a photo of your decorated pumpkin on Instagram, tag @ElevateGymnasticsTX and include #T1DPumpkinsOfGratitude in your caption. Your profile must be public for your entry to count. You must be following @ElevateGymnasticsTX on Instagram (Winners must be followers, we will check). 

Returning your ornament to the gym for display is optional but encouraged!

4. People's Choice Award: The design with the most likes on our official @ElevateGymnasticsTX post wins the People's Choice Award!

5. Judging & Prizes: Additional judging categories include:

  • Best Overall Visual Theme

  • Most Inventive Use of Materials

  • The Miniature Masterpiece

Winners will be announced on (date to be filled in).

6. Adopt-A-Pumpkin Option: Want to participate but don't have time to decorate? You can sponsor a pumpkin for $5! Your contribution allows another participant to decorate on your behalf. Adopted pumpkins will not be entered into the judging categories but will be displayed on our Community Gratitude Wall to help raise awareness for Type 1 Diabetes.

Official Contest Rules:

PURCHASE REQUIRED TO ENTER. Each participant must make a $5 ornament donation purchase to qualify as an official contest entry. This event functions as a charitable fundraiser under applicable Texas laws for nonprofit fundraising activities. Donations are non-refundable.

Adopt-A-Pumpkin Program

The "Adopt-A-Pumpkin" option allows participants to make a $5 charitable contribution without the requirement to decorate an ornament. Adopted pumpkins will be decorated by volunteers or matched with participants who wish to create additional entries. Adopted pumpkins are not eligible for contest judging or prizes but will be displayed on the Community Gratitude Wall to honor the contributor's support. Adopt-A-Pumpkin contributions follow the same fund allocation structure described above and are non-refundable donations.

Eligibility

The T1D Pumpkins of Gratitude Contest is open to all Elevate Gymnastics families and community members. Entrants under 18 must have permission from a legal guardian. Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and is void where prohibited.

How to Enter:

Purchase or adopt a pumpkin ornament through Elevate Gymnastics. Decorate your ornament, take a photo, and post it to Instagram tagging @ElevateGymnasticsTX and using #T1DPumpkinsOfGratitude. Only one (1) entry per purchased ornament. Incomplete entries or those not following the rules may be disqualified.

Winners

Judging will take place the week following the deadline. Prizes will be awarded for three judged categories and one People's Choice Award. Winners will be contacted via Instagram or phone/email within 7 days of judging.

General Conditions:

Charitable Purpose & Fund Allocation

This contest functions as a charitable fundraiser to raise awareness and support for Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) initiatives. All entry fees collected through ornament purchases will be allocated as follows: (1) operational costs including ornament supplies and contest materials; (2) direct support to Breakthrough T1D Walk and Type 1 Diabetes research organizations; and (3) assistance with diabetic treatment needs of participating organizers. A portion of proceeds may be used to help cover insulin, continuous glucose monitors (CGMs), and other essential diabetes management supplies for individuals involved in organizing this event. By participating, entrants acknowledge and consent to this fund allocation structure.
